The Market Cafe is South Molton Market’s coffee shop. South Molton Market is at the heart of the community it serves and The Market Cafe is at the heart of the market. It has been serving refreshments to traders and visitors every market day, for 20 years.
Early on, there is a quiet calm as traders set up their stalls, eagerly anticipating the day’s trade. Gradually, the customers arrive - many are regulars, some are visitors - and the market comes alive as customers shop and chat with traders. Some like to browse the stalls with a takeaway hot drink, others like to sit and watch the world go by. In between customers, traders come to order a cuppa or a bacon roll and rush back to their stalls while we make it and then take it over to them.
The market atmosphere is like no other.
